National Institute of Technology Hamirpur (NITH) also known as NIT Hamirpur is a prominence institute of higher studies for Engineering, Science and Technology. It is one among the thirty one National Institute of Technology in India established under the NIT Act 2007 (Amended 2012) of the parliament of India as an Institute of National importance with fully funded by the ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

The institute was established in 1986 as regional Engineering college Hamirpur, In Hamirpur Himachal Pradesh, India in a joint speculation of the government of India and the Government of Himachal Pradesh. In 2002, the college was transformed into National Institute of technology, Hamirpur and with the approval of the University Grant Commission, the college was granted Deemed university status in the same year.
