About NIT Karaikal, Cutoff & Ranking Procedure & Courses Offered

National Institute of Technology, is one of the thirty one national institutes of technology, situated near village poovam in Thiruvettakudy, Karaikal. In 2009, NIT Puducherywas declared as an institute of National importance by Government of India under the NIT Act 2007.

About Admission

During the admission, B.Tech students are admitted to the institute only on the basis obtained in the Joint Entrance Examination Mains (JEE – Mains). Among the total number of seats 50% of seats are reserved for the for the Home State candidates (Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe, Yaman) and rest 50% seats are filled on the India quote basis.

In this Institute M.Tech students are admitted on the basis of marks obtained in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) and Ph.D students are admitted to the Institute on the basis of Institute Interance test and interview.
