                            Sainik School Satara-

 

Sainik School Satara is one of the 24 Sainik Schools in India. It is a purely residential school for boys. The medium of instruction is English. Established by Government of India on 23 June 1961 at Satara. It is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education and is a member of Indian Public Schools Conference (IPSC).

The school prepares boys for entry into the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, Pune and for other walks of life.

 

Admission Procedure and fee structure-

Admissions in Sainik School Satara are meant for boys only. The entrance examination is held for admission to class VI & IX. Boys who are between the age of 10-11 years and 13-14 years respectively on 1st July of the year in which admission is sought are eligible to take the examination. For admission to class IX, the boys should be studying in class VIII in a recognized school. Admissions are made strictly in order of merit only in classes VI and IX.

RELAXATION IN AGE LIMIT IS NOT PERMISSIBLE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES RESERVATION.

Reservation-

 

15% of the available seats are reserved for Schedule Caste candidates and 7.5% for Schedule Tribe candidates. 25% of the balance seats are reserved for the children of serving and retired defense personnel. The remaining seats are filled up by open category candidates based on the order of merit.
The application form, prospectus, and sample question papers are made available by Sainik School Satara in the months of October and November.

Selected candidates, as per merit, out of the qualified candidates have to face an Interview Board at school and a Medical Board in the Government Civil Hospital. The final merit list is prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the written test and interview.
